Visit your local library for vintage books. Our library has an area when you walk in dedicated to books and magazines that people have donated - that you can purchase for some pocket change. Of course I always pick up any design magazines I can get my hands on, but it is also the perfect opportunity to pick up stacks of Vintage books - most are from the 1950's...books that are perfect just for stacking - books that just look cool. To add a little height to your vignettes. Next time you are there grab a bunch!
